OVERVIEW
The EASP-WHF1K-ANT 3.0.0 is an HF antenna, wideband, vertical type, mainly intended to operate with ALE and frequency hopping capable transceivers, for voice and data communications.
The EASP-WHF1K-ANT 3.0.0 operates in the frequency range, of 1.6 to 30 MHz providing an average return loss >10 dB (SWR 2:1) over the entire frequency range seamlessly. The working principle is based on the adoption of an original coupling network, capable to match the low output impedance of the transceiver (50 ohms typical) with the high impedance of the vertical radiator. Such a network is fully passive, being made of a mix of lumped and distributed L and C components. No electronic components of any kind are used in the network (resistors, relays, transistors, etc.). That network is employed to maximize effciency in transferring the radiofrequency energy to the radiator maintaining reasonable losses. Furthermore, the radiators element (whip) is galvanically short-circuited (DC) to the ground, to assure suitable lightning protection.
The EASP-WHF1K-ANT 3.0.0 is a self-standing whip antenna, made in epoxy fiberglass with an aluminum mounting base. The mounting base utilizes the standard drilling template used for shipboard HF antennas. Custom drilling templates are
available as well.
